Miscellaneous Memoirs- Man's Nature & Nurture

Miscellaneous Memoirs- Man's Nature & Nurture (not a poem ... yet!)

I've thought about this matter for some time & noticed it's quite hard to explain without analogizing....

Imagine yourself hanging off a cliff's edge and this cliff runs a long distance sideways as far as your vision takes you & you see others too hanging off this cliff's edge...

Some higher and most lower, only a few selected individuals manage to climb up & stand off it's edge, these are pious prophets. Their mission is to lend a helping hand to those still trying to climb up & pull them up too cuz if you look down, its just a dark abysmal emptiness...

Whilst everyone tries to climb up, sometimes mistakes happen and their 'hand' or 'foot' slips (their hearts via private parts & tongues deviate - separately) so they drag themselves down the edge further...

If this happens enough times, eventually the edge's sky light becomes too dim to see anymore, you're too deep in now, this is the 'hardening of the heart' that accompanies sins. The darkness becomes your new reality, this is what's home, what's right. What's normal. You forget the point of climbing up anymore, your memory about the cliff's edge and the sky light becomes hazy so you see no point in climbing up...

This is where your Qadr overtakes you, if goodness is destined for you then by a divine miracle, you perceive the nature of your existence, Allah swt grants you deep insight  and you try your best to rise above the enshrouding cloud of darkness but if evil is written in your taqdeer then nothing but dua can overturn it....

Such people eventually lose their grip (there's limits to human sabr- they give in to the temptations if pestered with fitan enough times hence the importance of staying away from society in general & espc evil ones) as the slope becomes steeper and they willingly fall into this mist of darkness losing all sense of self and direction...

I fear for myself and my brothers such a fate & try to stay as close to the edge as possible even if the sun's heat might burn me whilst the misty darkness's shadow below seems an appealing abode (fun parties and fitan for example), an escape from the testing and trying heat (even if temporarily cuz you never know if it might turn permanent)

Tldr: Itaqillāh!
